I got fed up wasting time and energy looking for nice cards with appropriate words. What is worse, because there are only a few brands of cards generally available nine times out of ten the recipients would have one just the same from someone else. The only other option was to buy expensive hand made cards at three or four pounds each. I had toyed with the idea of making cards for a while and decided that card making would be an ideal hobby for me as I can spend as much time on it as my health allows and I could probably make the cards for half what I was paying in the shops.
After a while, even though I thoroughly enjoyed glass painting I decided I wanted to look at other ways of making cards. I now use a variety of different techniques including Quilling, Parchment Craft Lacé and Rubber Stamping. I use a number of different ways to introduce colour such as paint and oil pastels as well as a variety of printed and hand made papers and peel off stickers to achieve the desired effects.
I was right about the ideal hobby I have had hours of pleasure but how wrong could I be very about the costs. Over the last few years I have spent a small fortune on equipment and paper.
Please go to my gallery and have a look at some of my favourite efforts and keep coming back for another look because I will change the cards when I make some other good ones.
